teaching
All my courses can be found on the electronic teaching system of the University of Aarhus which is called AULA. The access to some of the courses may be restricted to course participants.
Here you can find an online course on surface science. The course is an introduction into surface physics and chemistry. It discusses the difference between the surface and the bulk of a material and so some basic knowledge of solid state physics is assumed. You will learn how the surface chemical composition as well as the geometric, electronic and vibrational structure can be determined experimentally. In particular, the course discusses techniques such as ultra-high vacuum, electron spectroscopy, low energy electron diffraction, electron energy loss spectroscopy, x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, auger electron spectroscopy, angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, reflection anisotropy spectroscopy, thermal desorption and several others. This is illustrated using examples from current research in the field.
Your can also find online recourses for instructors for the book: Solid State Physics. An Introduction.
